Beginning in April, regular fare STM tickets will gradually be replaced by a card equipped with a magnetic strip containing one or six trips.
Whether you buy a card containing one or six trips, you must keep it, as it also serves as your transfer and as proof of payment.
The introduction of the fare cards will take place over a period of approximately six months. During this time, current tickets and the new cards will be accepted throughout the STM’s network.
The new fare cards are not accepted in the vehicles used for Paratransit service. Clients must continue to buy the old tickets at the usual point-of-sale locations.
The current system remains in effect if you are entitled to a reduced fare or if you use monthly (CAM) or weekly passes.
